Savanna’s engagement focused on VIP hospitality for key customers, media, and influencers, and a public consumer activation for data acquisition and custom merchandise prize redemption.

Strategically placed photo ops encouraged social media engagement.

The VIP hospitality area was a beautifully branded space, perfect for content capturing, where guests could eat, drink, and feel special before the show.

Select guests enjoyed a meet-and-greet with Trevor Noah against Savanna’s branded greenery wall.

The public consumer activation was inspired by the idea of South Africans always finding the need to send a “Skhaftin” (parcel) to friends or family abroad if anyone they knew was getting on an international flight.

Playing on Trevor’s return home in his “jet” consumers took to social media to vocalise what they would send in a skhaftin.

The activation featured a clear call to action: “We got too many Skhaftins for Trevor’s jet so you can stand a chance to win one here.” Consumers scanned a QR code to enter their details, picked an iconic South African product from a display shelf, and grabbed a Skhaftin from a conveyor belt, hoping to find a matching product name inside the box.

A successful match resulted in an instant prize. Winners of the Savanna Retro Cooler completed a custom-designed Skhaftin Courier Service waybill, and the prize was couriered to them.

The kiosk was designed and built to portray a courier service conveyor belt system. A photo booth with facial recognition captured consumers’ laughter as they listened to comedians’ one-liners. These photos were sent to their mobile devices and used to create a mosaic of Trevor Noah’s face, displayed at the shows.

This activation effectively showcased Savanna’s commitment to uplifting the nation through its witty and dry humour, providing a memorable experience for all attendees.
